Job summary

The City of Eugene’s Community Development Division seeks a Business Development Manager to lead economic development initiatives, attract and retain businesses, and create living-wage jobs. You will work with regional partners to grow firms across sectors and shape policies and programs for business-focused development.

The role requires extensive collaboration across City departments and private partners, strong leadership, and the ability to manage high-profile projects with accountability

Qualifications

• At least five years of professional experience in project management or program administration.
• At least two years of full supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Public Policy, Planning or closely related field, plus four years of professional experience in Economic Development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the planning and implementation of Business Development programs including attraction, retention, job creation, and marketing.
• Develop an Economic Development Strategy aligned with regional planning efforts.
• Serve as liaison with regional agencies and organizations and coordinate with partners to promote economic prosperity regionally.
