Job summary

The City of Eugene’s Community Development Division seeks a Business Development Manager to lead economic development initiatives and build relationships with regional partners and the business community. The successful candidate will help expand firms in targeted sectors and support living-wage job creation within Eugene.

Joining the Economic Prosperity team, you will develop, recommend, and implement goals and programs for business-focused economic development, working across city departments

Qualifications

• Five years of professional experience in project management or program administration.
• At least two years of full supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Public Policy, Planning or closely related field, AND four years of professional experience in Economic Development.
• A master’s degree in a relevant field is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the planning and implementation of business development programs.
• Develop an Economic Development Strategy aligned with regional partners.
• Coordinate with regional agencies, workforce training and trade orgs.
• Identify funding strategies for long-term initiatives.
• Prepare reports for the City Council and advisory boards.
