Job summary

City of Monroe is seeking an experienced professional to support the Economic Development Director. The role involves managing programs, coordinating business recruitment and retention, and leading data-driven decision making to drive growth.

You will work with city departments, businesses, and partners to advance strategic initiatives and ensure timely delivery. The position requires strong project management, analytical skills, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory and funding

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of economic development, business principles, and local government operations.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to prepare reports, summaries, and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Support the Economic Development Director in administering programs and strategic initiatives.
• Manage business recruitment inquiries and development projects from inquiry to resolution.
• Coordinate retention and expansion activities for existing businesses.
• Conduct research and analysis to support decisions and prepare background information.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and council materials to track performance.
• Coordinate marketing, communications, and branding for economic development initiatives.
• Administer inventory of available sites and coordinate property evaluations.
• Assist in incentives, grants, and compliance program administration.
• Maintain professional relationships with partner organizations and stakeholders.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
