Job summary

The Morgridge Institute for Research is seeking a Philanthropic Giving Manager to advance individual donor relationships and grow a mid-level portfolio. You will cultivate prospects, conduct visits, and coordinate with leadership to implement development strategies that support biomedical discovery and science outreach.

Responsibilities include building a portfolio of 100-125 donors and prospects, maintaining regular contact, and traveling as needed to meet annual and long-term giving goals

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Three or more years of successful philanthropic gift solicitation or related experience.
• Experience with fundraising programs related to biomedical or scientific institutions.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain philanthropy-focused relationships with individuals through visits, calls, and contacts to meet annual and long-term goals.
• Develop and grow a donor portfolio with gifting potential; maintain 12-15 meaningful contacts monthly.
• Solicit annual, major, multi-year, and estate commitments primarily via personal visits.
• Travel outside the Madison region to visit donors and prospects to achieve fundraising goals.
• Identify new leads and develop strategies for acquiring and upgrading donors.
• Manage portfolio and activities in the Salesforce database.
• Support development strategies, programs, goals, and policies with leadership and staff.
