LUZCO Technologies LLC in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Distribution Portfolio Engineer to help utility clients plan and invest in electric infrastructure. You will work at the intersection of engineering, planning, and project management, partnering with diverse teams to deliver lasting value.

You will develop and maintain capital investment portfolios, assess priorities, and shape programs that support reliability and growth for the grid. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3+ years of experience in utility planning, transmission, distribution, or substation engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain long-range capital investment portfolios for utility clients.
• Partner with engineering, operations, project management, and client teams to identify current and future infrastructure needs.
• Support the development and execution of multi-year capital investment plans.
• Evaluate project priorities, funding requirements, schedules, risks, and overall portfolio impacts.
• Identify opportunities to optimize project sequencing, improve efficiency, and maximize the value of capital investments.
• Assist in developing project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and funding strategies.
• Review engineering, financial, and project data to support planning and investment decisions.
• Analyze portfolio data to identify trends, risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support equipment planning efforts, including transformer and distribution asset planning.
• Coordinate across multiple teams to address project dependencies, resource constraints, and execution challenges.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and portfolio management best practices.
• Support the development of standards, templates, and governance processes that improve consistency and efficiency.
• Provide training, knowledge sharing, and support as new planning tools and processes are implemented.
• Candidates should be comfortable with occasional travel, including visits to client sites and utility facilities.
