Erickson Senior Living in Baltimore is seeking a Director of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting to lead a team responsible for complex accounting issues, and the preparation of audited financial statements for home office and community entities.

The role emphasizes strong internal controls, policy development, and collaboration with auditors, with a focus on fiscal stewardship and exceptional service. CPA is required and extensive GAAP knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in accounting and financial reporting, with the last 5+ years in a management/supervisory role over accounting professionals.
• Current CPA required.
• Experience at an audit/CPA firm is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing supervision, leadership, and support to drive high-performance and professional development.
• Oversee the preparation of internal and external monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable regulatory or contractual requirements.
• Lead research for technical accounting matters relating to material transactions and contracts.
• Oversee the implementation of new accounting standards and ensure compliance with changes in regulations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit and ensure adherence to audit requirements; address audit findings and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Provide technical guidance to finance and accounting teams on complex accounting issues
