Job summary

Minnetrista is seeking a Director of Programs & Education for Mary Lincoln Cottage. You will lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of engaging programs for diverse audiences and supervise Visitor Services to ensure a world-class guest experience.

The role requires strong leadership, collaboration across departments, and a customer-focused mindset. Work hours include occasional evenings and weekends on a beautiful 40-acre campus in Indiana.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, history, art, or related field required or preferred.
• 5–8 years in informal education or teaching with audience-specific programming experience.
• Museum experience or education degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct, manage and evaluate the Programs Department and Visitor Services.
• Develop and assess programs for adults, families, and schools.
• Strengthen ties with regional schools and communicate with teachers.
• Lead cross-departmental teams to generate new programming ideas.
• Manage departmental budgets and collaborations with external partners.
• Support mission through storytelling with exhibitions and collections staff.
