Job summary

DC Department of Human Resources seeks a senior leader to direct Pavement Maintenance and related right-of-way programs for the District. The role oversees policy development, capital and maintenance planning, and in-house vs contracted work strategies to meet agency objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Safety, Transportation, or the Physical Sciences or related fields is highly desirable.
• Applicants must have at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to grade 14 level in the District of Columbia government service, or equivalent public or private sector.
• Specialized experience is work that has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Provide policy direction, strategic oversight, and operational guidance for pavement and right-of-way maintenance programs.
• Oversee the Pavement Maintenance Division and coordinate with partners to support asset operations.
• Manage resources and advise Director on planning, scheduling, and policy interpretation.
