Job summary

Cherokee Federal seeks a strategic Director, Total Rewards to lead the enterprise-wide compensation, benefits, retirement, leave, wellness, and recognition programs. You will shape governance, ensure regulatory compliance, and translate business goals into scalable Total Rewards solutions across a federal contracting environment.

You will partner with HR, Legal, Finance, Contracts, CNB, and program leadership to drive market competitiveness, internal equity, and cost efficiency while enabling

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive total rewards, compensation, or benefits experience.
• Experience leading compensation strategy, market pricing, job architecture, and salary structures.
• Strong knowledge of ERISA, FMLA, ADA, ACA and related regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership with market data and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead Cherokee Federal’s enterprise total rewards strategy across compensation, benefits, retirement, leave, wellness, and recognition.
• Establish governance, policies, and decision frameworks for defensible total rewards practices.
• Advise executives on market trends, competitiveness, and cost considerations affecting programs.
• Create multi-year roadmaps for rewards programs, tech, vendors, and employee experience.
• Define KPIs and analytics to evaluate competitiveness, cost, equity, compliance, and program effectiveness.
• Provide executive-level analysis on compensation, benefits, and workforce decisions.
• Oversee compensation framework, salary structures, incentive programs, and FLSA classification.
