Job summary

SambaNova invites a seasoned Director of Technical Accounting & General Ledger to lead accounting policy and the integrity of the general ledger. You will be the primary US GAAP authority, drive the close, and ensure compliant financial statements while partnering with Legal, FP&A, Tax, and business teams.

This role emphasizes policy ownership, end-to-end close management, and a strong control environment as the company scales in a fast-growing AI software and hardware ecosystem.

Qualifications

• CPA required.
• 15+ years progressive accounting experience; mix of Big 4 and industry preferred.
• Deep technical knowledge of US GAAP; able to author accounting memos.
• Experience with full-cycle close at a company of meaningful scale.
• SOX compliance and internal controls over financial reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communication; explain complex accounting to non-accountants.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite); comfort with Excel and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
• Oversee journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis across all GL accounts.
• Ensure chart of accounts is properly structured and maintained.
• Identify and lead process improvements and automation initiatives to reduce close time.
• Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
