Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking a Director of Labor Relations to guide strategic labor relations for the Engineering Department. You will oversee contract interpretation, grievance handling, and workforce relations to support safe, efficient operations.

Based in Fort Worth, TX, the role involves partnerships with union leadership, cross-functional teams, and negotiations, with remote work possible one day per week and travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience including 2 years’ formal collective bargaining experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience interpreting and administering labor agreements and resolving complex issues.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills; ability to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the company's labor relations strategy and contract administration.
• Represent the organization in grievances, arbitrations, and dispute resolutions.
• Build partnerships with union leadership and stakeholders to align objectives.
• Lead and support labor negotiations, including contract modifications.
• Collaborate to identify and resolve complex labor issues affecting operations.
