Job summary

J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College is seeking a Director of Financial Operations to lead the college's financial operations, including accounting, grants, student financials, and reporting.

The role ensures accurate, compliant processing and robust internal controls across multiple departments. The position reports to the Associate Vice President of Financial Operations and will coordinate year‑end activities, cash management, and internal and external audits while supporting ERP cloud

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience supervising professional staff in fiscal operations.
• Experience with governmental accounting and state appropriations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day financial operations including accounting, grants accounting and student financials.
• Coordinate year‑end close, reconciliations, payroll certifications, and cash management.
• Support ARMICS compliance, internal controls, and audit activities.
