Job summary

Shady Side Academy seeks a Director of Alumni Engagement to build meaningful relationships with alumni across generations and nationwide. This in-person, full-time role reports to the Chief Philanthropy Officer and leads a strategy spanning programs, events, volunteer opportunities, and connections.

The Director designs data-informed alumni experiences, guides Homecoming & Reunion Weekend, and partners with teams across the Academy to deepen engagement, expand participation, and foster

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 3–5 years in alumni relations or related fields.
• Experience in independent schools or higher education preferred.
• Proven ability to build authentic relationships across generations.
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable public representation.

Responsibilities

• Design a data-informed alumni experiences portfolio.
• Lead Homecoming & Reunion Weekend planning and execution.
• Recruit and support alumni volunteers and peer leadership.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Enrollment, Athletics, and leadership across the Academy to deepen engagement.
• Track engagement data and inform program strategy.
