Job summary

Minnesota IT Services in Saint Paul is seeking an Executive Director of IT Operations & Reliability to provide strategic and operational leadership for enterprise technology capabilities central to how MNIT delivers services to state agencies.

The Executive Director will lead an organization that includes the Enterprise Service Desk, ServiceNow Platform, Operational Platforms & Automation, AI strategy and disaster recovery, and Application Portfolio Management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in an information technology leadership role with responsibility for customer relationship management, business and IT strategy, and leading technology operations.
• Five (5) years of supervisory or managerial experience with staff development and performance management.
• Experience leading large, complex enterprise IT operations or technology service organizations.
• Accountability for delivery, reliability, and continuous improvement of enterprise technology services.
• Significant financial management responsibility including budgets, investments, contracts, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for a portfolio of enterprise technology capabilities.
• Establish organizational priorities, use data to guide decisions, and promote accountability.
• Develop leaders and teams and manage substantial financial resources and investments.
• Collaborate with senior MNIT leaders to align business and technology needs.
• Advance responsible use of automation, AI, observability, and modern operational practices.
