Job summary

We Insure Group is seeking a Director, Insurance Licensing & Compliance to build and lead the licensing program across corporate entities, franchises, and acquisitions. This hands-on leader will establish standards and create auditable workflows to ensure compliant operations.

The director will own licensing status in onboarding, carrier appointments, and compensation, collaborating with HR, Finance, Technology, and Legal to scale processes, manage exceptions, and drive strategic regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with P&C license preferred.
• Seven or more years of progressive insurance licensing experience.
• At least three years owning a licensing program or leading licensing professionals.
• Hands-on experience with licenses, lines of authority, renewals, CE, and appointments.
• Ability to build controls, reconcile data, and prepare for regulatory examinations.
• Experience with NIPR and licensing platforms plus CRM/workflow systems.
• Strong communication skills to explain requirements to executives and franchise owners.
• Preferred: experience in national independent agencies or acquisition contexts.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise licensing policy, procedures, control calendar, and exception process.
• Maintain state-by-state requirements for licenses, CE, renewals, and appointments.
• Manage corporate applications, renewals, and related filings; coordinate offboarding when authority ends.
• Define licensing requirements for onboarding, expansions, and transfers; manage exceptions.
• Establish licensing prereqs for carrier appointments and reconcile records.
• Oversee annual/regulatory filings, inquiries, and examination support; work with outside counsel.
