Ladders is seeking a Director, Insurance Licensing & Compliance to own enterprise licensing policies and oversee multi-state regulatory readiness. This role partners with legal, onboarding, operations, and leadership to build scalable controls that enable growth while reducing risk.

Based in the US as a remote position, you will drive licensing data accuracy, manage complex filings, and lead diligence for acquisitions to ensure smooth integration of entities and producers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; active P&C producer license preferred.
  • 7+ years in insurance producer, agency, or regulatory licensing with multi-state scope.
  • 3+ years leading a licensing program or licensing teams.
  • Experience with licenses for individuals and entities and state-specific exceptions.

Description du poste

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Insurance Licensing & Compliance to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will own the enterprise approach to insurance licensing compliance, with a focus on multi‑state requirements, producer appointments, and regulatory readiness. You will partner closely with legal, compliance, onboarding, operations, and business leadership to create scalable controls that support growth while reducing risk. The position also plays a key role in franchise and acquisition diligence, helping ensure licensing obligations are met before new entities or producers are brought into production. In addition, you will help shape the systems, processes, and training needed to keep licensing data accurate and audit‑ready.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 annually

Responsibilities
  • Own and develop enterprise insurance licensing policies and operating procedures
  • Maintain a comprehensive state‑by‑state licensing requirements framework
  • Manage corporate applications, renewals, and related filings, ensuring compliance before production access
  • Define and monitor licensing requirements for onboarding and changes, managing exceptions as needed
  • Establish prerequisites for carrier relations regarding appointments and market access
  • Oversee licensing‑related filings and regulatory inquiries, and escalated legal questions to outside counsel
  • Create and maintain a controlled licensing system of record, automating alerts and reconciliations
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate licensing status into onboarding and offboarding workflows
  • Monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary updates and training for stakeholders
  • Lead licensing diligence for acquisitions, ensuring thorough integration of entities and producers
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; active property and casualty producer license preferred
  • 7+ years in insurance producer, agency, or regulatory licensing experience, with multi‑state experience
  • 3+ years managing a licensing program or supervising licensing teams
  • Hands‑on experience with individual and business‑entity licenses and state‑specific exceptions
  • Proven ability to build controls, reconcile data, and manage exceptions across various departments
  • Familiarity with NIPR and licensing platforms like Sircon or AgentSync; experience with CRM systems
  • Strong judgment and communication skills for interacting with executives and franchise owners
