Job summary

Iridium is seeking a seasoned Government Business Development Director to lead strategic growth across U.S. federal, state, and local agencies and allied partners.

You will build high-value relationships, develop go-to-market plans, and pursue funded programs in DoD, IC, DHS, and Five Eyes markets, guiding capture and proposal efforts. You’ll work in a hybrid office environment in McLean, VA, travel as needed, and mentor teams while aligning with Iridium’s broader strategic goals in security,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, political science, cybersecurity, or related field OR equivalent relevant experience.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in government business development.
• Existing security clearance.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present information and drive discussion across all employee groups.
• Capable of motivating and directing a team while promoting cross-functional collaboration.
• Able to tailor communication to senior military, civilian, and technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Foster and expand a network of government stakeholders and program influencers across target agencies.
• Manage high-impact business development activities spanning DoD, IC, DHS, and civilian agencies.
• Oversee development and execution of government go-to-market plans aligned with Iridium strategies.
• Inform product development with market requirements and pain point insights.
• Lead capture efforts for funded programs and mission needs with differentiated value.
• Represent Iridium at major conferences and engagements (AFCEA, AUSA, DoDIIS).
