Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in New York seeks an experienced strategic leader for Citi Markets Communications. Develop and execute cohesive plans spanning Fixed Income and Equities, with executive messaging, media relations, and internal communications.

The role requires significant capital markets communications experience and the ability to manage a global team. Error-free writing, crisis management, and cross-functional collaboration across Finance, Legal, HR and Risk are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field.
• Understanding of capital markets products and instruments, including Fixed Income and Equities.
• Experience in managing a global team.
• At least 15 years of work experience in communications and/or media relations, with exposure to investment banking, global markets, or financial services.
• Ability to deliver quality work in a fast-paced, dynamic and complex environment under tight deadlines.
• Experience pitching financial, business and industry media outlets with a focus on markets, trading, and macroeconomic themes.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills, including speechwriting and editing.
• Ability to synthesize complex financial concepts for stakeholders.
• A team player who can manage projects across regions (EMEA, Asia Pacific, North America).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a communications strategy with cohesive messaging across Fixed Income and Equities.
• Manage pipeline of content for Citi internal channels.
• Drive media relations strategy through proactive engagement and crisis management.
• Build relationships with top-tier financial media and serve as spokesperson.
• Write and edit press releases, memos, statements, talking points, Q&A, and social posts.
• Collaborate with Finance, Marketing, HR, Legal, Risk & Compliance and Markets leadership.
