Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) invites applications for a Director of Facilities & Infrastructure Strategy. The role leads development of infrastructure strategy, investment profiling, and property/space management to support ORNL's mission.

The successful candidate will engage with senior leadership, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive long-range capital planning, ensuring alignment with safety and campus strategy objectives.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related technical field.
• 12+ years in facilities planning, infrastructure strategy, or related functions.
• 5+ years of relevant management experience.
• Translate capability gaps into prioritized actions and investment recommendations.
• Experience with long-range investment profiles and campus strategy materials.
• Engage with senior leaders and cross-functional teams; strong written/verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mission Readiness process with Directorate Leadership and senior staff.
• Identify and categorize infrastructure capability gaps and priorities.
• Develop a structured methodology to prioritize actions and investments.
• Analyze and prioritize gaps to support Lab Agenda and mission needs.
• Develop campus strategy objectives and a 10-year investment profile.
• Oversee space management, real property assets, and related planning.
• Coordinate with planning offices and project management teams.
• Ensure safe operations per SBMS and ES&H requirements.
