Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory seeks a Nuclear Criticality Safety Program Lead to be the chief programmatic and technical authority for its Nuclear Criticality Safety Group within the Nuclear Facility Safety Division. This senior role reports to the NFSD Director and leads safety strategy across ORNL facilities.

The role requires extensive experience, leadership of technical staff, and the ability to work collaboratively across the laboratory while upholding ORNL’s values of Impact, Integrity,

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Nuclear Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 12 years of practicing nuclear criticality safety on the floor of operating facilities.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the NFSD Director.
• Serves as the chief programmatic and technical lead for the ORNL NCS Program.
• Provides recommendations to management on Nuclear Criticality Safety issues.
• Assists in developing strategic and tactical safety policies for ORNL nuclear facilities.
• Mentors NCS Program staff and promotes ORNL core values.
