Job summary

The City of Bellevue is seeking an experienced, collaborative leader to serve as its Director of Development Services. The Director provides leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for land use entitlement, building permitting and inspection, code compliance, business services, policy, and code development.

Working with division leaders, the Director sets priorities, implements policies, and develops long-range strategies that support Bellevue’s growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, architecture, engineering, or closely related field.
• Ten or more years of progressively responsible leadership and supervision in development services or equivalent government setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic and policy direction to the Development Services Department.
• Leads the department’s management team and oversees budget and operations.
• Drives long-range strategic plans aligning with the City’s growth.
