Job summary

The City of Leavenworth is seeking a Community Development Director to lead the department, oversee planning, zoning, permitting, and environmental review, and serve as SEPA and FEMA official. You will manage staff, craft policies, and coordinate with City Council and Mayor to advance development goals.

Responsibilities include budget oversight, program evaluation, grant management, and reporting to City Council, while guiding long-range planning and community engagement to ensure city

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in urban, regional, or city planning or a related field.
• Five (5) years of professional experience in planning or a related field.
• Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage the Community Development Department.
• Oversee current and long-range planning, zoning, and permitting processes.
• Administer department budget and resources; ensure fiscal accountability.
• Provide staff leadership, supervision, and performance management.
