Job summary

Symbotic LLC in the United States is hiring a Buyer to join our Strategic Sourcing team. You will manage day-to-day supplier activities, execute purchase orders, and coordinate with engineering, planning, manufacturing and suppliers to keep Symbotic systems in production.

You will analyze demand, monitor on-time delivery, track costs, and support negotiations while ensuring alignment with total cost of ownership goals across our robotics and automation components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field.
• 1–3 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing experience.
• Experience with contract manufacturers, EMS providers, or industrial hardware suppliers.
• Knowledge of mechanical components, electronics, motors, batteries, or cabling.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and strong Excel/data analysis skills.
• Strong organizational and supplier relationship management skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders, acknowledgements, and supplier communications.
• Monitor delivery commitments, lead times, shortages, and material availability.
• Analyze demand forecasts and supplier capacity to support production.
• Track pricing, quotations, and cost changes; assist with negotiations.
• Coordinate engineering changes and product transitions with cross-functional teams.
• Support supplier performance reviews with quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
