Job summary

UNFPA Headquarters in New York seeks a Digital Solutions & CoE Specialist within the Digital Centre of Excellence (DCoE) to lead the technical execution of core digital products and support rollout across HQ, regional, and country offices.

The role combines hands-on product management with quality assurance, ensuring scalable, secure solutions that strengthen UNFPA's programmatic impact and align with cybersecurity and data privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software product management, digital transformation implementation, or related fields.
• Proven track record in managing technology lifecycles, vendor teams, and complex digital product deployments.
• Experience providing technical advisory support to decentralized or international field environments.
• Knowledge of data privacy standards, enterprise architectures, and modern cloud infrastructures.
• Experience with UN system policies or similar environments is desirable.
• Ability to communicate effectively with executive management and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technical lifecycle, rollout, and scaling of assigned core digital products.
• Draft product roadmaps, technical requirements, and user stories for developers and vendors.
• Conduct technical feasibility assessments and digital maturity evaluations for country offices.
• Ensure solutions comply with cybersecurity standards, enterprise architecture, and data privacy regulations.
• Track product performance, log issues and risks, and apply mitigation measures across the lifecycle.
• Provide technical assistance to regional and country offices on ICT implementations.
• Establish SOPs, documentation guidelines, and service-level targets for scalable solutions.
• Translate programme needs into clear technical specifications and act as interface between developers and non-technical staff.
• Lead governance, capacity building, and standards for digital products within the DCoE.
• Co-lead partnerships, draft proposals, and support fundraising for digital initiatives.
• Coordinate sourcing, due diligence, and onboarding of external startups and innovators.
