Job summary

The City of Fayetteville is recruiting a Development Ombudsman Manager to help the development community, city management, and elected officials understand regulatory impacts of development within an urban area. You will guide applicants for new and redevelopment projects, and assist permitting and approval agencies in resolving issues as properties develop.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience as a public sector planning director, planning manager or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business administration, leadership, development, planning, or management. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Preferred: American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification.

Responsibilities

• Work with the development community to assist applicants for new and redevelopment projects.
• Provide, recommend, and present development code updates and revisions to City ordinances.
• Establish regular communication with stakeholders to improve certainty, quality, and timely resolution of development reviews and approvals.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research addressing development trends and issues.
