The Brotherhood/Sister Sol (Bro/Sis), based in Harlem, NY, is a nonprofit youth development organization focused on holistic support for youth ages eight to twenty-two. Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of development experience, including management of a complex fundraising program.
  • Experience managing people and budgets; hands-on leadership.
  • Knowledge of donor databases is preferred (Donor Works).
  • Ability to secure support from diverse constituencies including boards, donors and foundations.
  • Track record of major gifts, annual gifts, grants, and special events.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
  • Strategic thinker with entrepreneurial and collaborative leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, administer, and implement all fundraising activities for Bro/Sis.
  • Maintain and grow existing funders; secure new funders.
  • Provide regular fundraising progress reports to Executive Director and Board.
  • Develop fundraising plans with Executive Director for Board presentation.
  • Oversee direct mail, case statements, grants, brochures, and sponsorship proposals.
  • Coordinate donor receptions, events, and cultivation activities with volunteers.
  • Ensure donor stewardship and timely thank-you communications.
  • Develop relationships with philanthropic community; donor and sponsor engagement.
  • Oversee social media and digital presence.
  • Supervise development team members.
  • Serve as spokesperson for Bro/Sis in funding community.
