Job summary

VOA Eastern Washington seeks a strategic, relationship-driven Director of Development to lead fundraising and philanthropic growth across the organization. You will engage major donors, foundations, and community partners to secure investments that sustain our mission.

The role collaborates with executive leadership and the Board to expand partnerships, oversee donor engagement, reporting, and growth metrics, and cultivate a culture of philanthropy across Eastern Washington.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five or more years of progressive experience in fundraising, development, business development, sales, or relationship management.
• Experience cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors, clients, customers, or strategic partners.
• Experience developing and implementing growth strategies.
• Strong verbal, written, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute fundraising strategies that increase support from individuals, businesses, foundations, and community partners.
• Build, manage, and grow relationships with major donors and prospective supporters.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward significant philanthropic gifts.
• Expand corporate sponsorships and strategic community partnerships.
• Partner with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to advance fundraising initiatives.
• Develop donor engagement and stewardship strategies that strengthen long-term support.
• Oversee fundraising operations, donor data management, reporting, and performance metrics.
• Monitor fundraising results and implement strategies to achieve growth goals.
• Represent VOA Eastern Washington throughout the community as a trusted ambassador for the organization.
• Help foster a culture of philanthropy and community engagement.
