Job summary

Volunteers of America Eastern Washington is seeking a strategic Director of Development to lead fundraising and philanthropic growth across the organization. You will build meaningful relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners to expand resources for our mission in Eastern Washington.

The ideal candidate will engage business leaders and community partners, implement growth strategies, and collaborate with leadership and the Board to advance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five or more years of progressive fundraising, development, or donor-relations experience.
• Experience cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors and foundations.
• Ability to develop and implement growth strategies.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• License to travel throughout the service area.

Responsibilities

• Lead fundraising strategies increasing support from individuals, businesses, foundations, and partners.
• Build and grow relationships with major donors and supporters.
• Identify, solicit, and steward significant philanthropic gifts.
• Expand corporate sponsorships and strategic community partnerships.
• Collaborate with leadership and the Board to advance fundraising initiatives.
• Develop donor engagement and stewardship strategies for long-term support.
• Oversee fundraising operations, donor data management, reporting, and metrics.
• Monitor results and adjust strategies to achieve growth goals.
• Represent VOA Eastern Washington as an ambassador in the community.
• Foster a culture of philanthropy and community engagement.
