Job summary

The Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF) is seeking a strategic, mission-driven Director of Development to lead LIIF’s institutional fundraising function. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Director of Development provides enterprise-wide leadership for development strategy, execution, systems, and team management, driving LIIF’s multi-million-dollar annual fundraising goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
• 10–15 years of nonprofit development or related field with leadership responsibility.
• Proven success designing fundraising strategies for multi‑million-dollar budgets.
• Deep expertise in institutional fundraising with diverse funders.
• Strong experience managing teams, systems, and complex projects.
• Knowledge of data and systems (e.g., Salesforce) to drive strategy and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead organizational fundraising strategy and annual revenue targets.
• Manage the Development department, including planning, performance, and development.
• Translate priorities into fundraising plans, pipelines, and accountabilities.
• Identify and evaluate funding opportunities; align with LIIF’s goals.
• Partner with Executive Team to align fundraising with program growth.
• Lead cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of funders across sectors.
• Oversee grant development and reporting, including complex proposals.
• Ensure data integrity, pipeline forecasting, and reporting systems.
