Job summary

Jumpstart is seeking a Director of Development to lead fundraising within its national team, managing a approx. $2 million donor portfolio and a three-person state fundraising team.

This role shapes strategy across individual, foundation, corporate, and government donors, coordinates advisory boards in Northern and Southern California, and partners with Jumpstart staff network to meet revenue goals and advance national fundraising efforts.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in driving and managing fundraising teams.
• Experience identifying, cultivating and securing major gifts.
• Strong communication, including writing, speaking and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop an aggressive fundraising strategy to meet revenue goals.
• Retain and move donors to major gifts; build a national donor pipeline.
• Lead local and national fundraising efforts across individual, foundation, corporate and government sources.
• Oversee moves management and advisory boards; coordinate with VP of Development and Communications.
• Manage staff and coordinate with Jumpstart network for best practices.
• Support proposals, grant reporting and stewardship with development team writers.
• Organize major events and cultivate relationships with senior staff and board members.
• Collaborate across Jumpstart to expand national fundraising efforts.
