Job summary

Child Focus | CASA of Passaic and Union Counties in New Jersey seeks a Director of Development to drive a strategic, diversified fundraising program. You will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising activities and serve as a trusted partner to the Executive Director.

The role requires building authentic donor relationships, managing a multi-faceted pipeline, and leading a team to deliver sustainable revenue.

Qualifications

• Significant progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising or development leadership.
• Proven success securing philanthropic support through major gifts, corporate partnerships, or sponsorships.
• Experience leading teams and coordinating work across functions.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
• Ability to develop fundraising strategies and manage pipelines.
• Experience partnering with executive leadership and boards.
• Sound financial judgment and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Familiarity with donor management systems and fundraising technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to diversify revenue.
• Lead donor acquisition, retention, and major gifts programs.
• Cultivate relationships with individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Oversee grants, sponsorships, campaigns, and events for revenue growth.
• Manage department work plans, priorities, and staff performance.
• Coordinate priorities with grant management, communications, Finance, Programs, and Strategy & Impact.
• Represent the organization at donor engagements and community events.
• Support board engagement in fundraising and ambassador activities.
• Build scalable processes for accountability and impact measurement.
