Job summary

Sonoco, a global packaging leader based in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Demand Planning professional to develop long-term demand plans via the S&OP process and support customer teams on short- to mid-term plans. You will forecast accuracy, drive KPI improvements, and collaborate across Sales, Finance, and Operations.

The role requires a BS/BA and 1–2 years of Demand Planning experience (or 5+ years in a fast-paced manufacturing setting).

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Business, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
• 1-2 years of Demand Planning experience or 5+ years in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• Experience with Oracle, Logility, Excel, Access.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Experience with Sales & Operations Planning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create Consensus Forecast from sales, statistical, and customer inputs.
• Monitor forecast sets and propose improvements.
• Collaborate with Sales to update the consensus forecast.
• Compare targets with actual results; perform gap analysis.
• Prepare demand-related reports and KPIs.
• Understand financial expectations for customers and communicate gaps.
• Improve demand planning metrics and link to business performance.
• Develop repeatable demand planning processes.
• Highlight business impact of planning improvements.
• Identify strategies to sustain improvements.
• Support quarterly financial forecasting and annual budget.
• Coordinate cross-plant revenue planning with Finance.
• Become expert in the corporate Demand Planning software.
• Ensure data maintenance of critical sources.
• Optimize forecast parameters and models.
• Implement KPI generation software.
• Collaborate with global BT to sustain systems.
