Qualifications

• FAR/DFARS – working knowledge.
• Aerospace, Military, or similar industry.
• Requires an understanding of: products, military specifications, Federal acquisition regulations.

Responsibilities

• Determine the best sources of supply from knowledge of the supply base, product performance, and capabilities.
• Obtain quotes from suppliers negotiating for optimum pricing, quality, delivery schedule, and terms and conditions.
• Maintain and utilize commodity knowledge and market conditions to reduce component pricing.
• Establish preferred suppliers and initiate expectations and activities to enable cost reduction from the suppliers.
• Coordinate with the material planner to identify cost reduction opportunities from future planned orders.
• Award purchase orders on time to support program schedule needs and company goals.
• Serve as liaison between Company and supplier regarding changes or problems with material deliveries.
• Interface with Program Management to coordinate timely material deliveries for production.
• Interview supplier representatives and stay abreast of product tech/life cycles and supplier status.
• Participate in and lead continuous improvement activities.
