Job summary

Leonardo DRS, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to lead sourcing, procurement, and supplier management for optics and precision EO hardware. The role emphasizes negotiation, complex supplier management, and compliance with FAR/DFARS/ITAR requirements.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in aerospace/defense purchasing, strong ERP/MRP experience, and US citizenship. The position offers a remote-capable setup with a robust benefits package and career growth

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
5 years DFAR/FAR purchasing experience in aerospace/defense.
Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
U.S. citizenship due to government contracts.

Responsibilities

Direct experience purchasing optical components or precision EO hardware is required.
Lead procurement activities for high-value, complex components per FAR/DFARS/ITAR.
Analyze MRP/ERP demand and issue RFQs, RFPs, and POs to suppliers.
Evaluate supplier quotes for technical compliance, cost, and delivery.
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships for strategic sourcing.
Ensure supplier performance by managing delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, program management, contracts and legal.
Support supplier risk assessments and mitigation plans.
Assist in audits and compliance reviews related to purchasing.
