Job summary

DataJobs in St. Louis, MO, seeks a mid-level Data Scientist to support USTRANSCOM’s Global Bulk Fuel Management mission. You will work with JPE data, build predictive models, and deliver visualizations to strengthen the Global Common Operating Picture.

Responsibilities include exploratory analysis, model development, and collaboration with data engineering teams on Databricks and Palantir Ontology. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience developing data pipelines using Spark, Kafka, or similar technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Databricks is highly desired.
• Experience with Palantir Ontology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct exploratory data analysis and develop machine learning models to identify trends and forecast demand.
• Convert complex results into actionable guidance for stakeholders via reports, dashboards, and presentations.
• Collaborate with data engineers to access and prepare data from Databricks and Palantir Ontology.
• Analyze JPE data sources to surface opportunities for deeper analysis and insight.
• Define data requirements for ingestion and API development for analytical use.
• Participate in working groups to contribute to data-driven strategies and tool selection.
