The role collaborates with top executives across Patent and Trademark operations to advance data governance, cataloging, analytics, and risk management in support of mission outcomes and public service.

Qualifications

• Executive Core Qualifications (ECQ) and Professional Technical Qualifications (PTQs) related to this position within your resume.
• Preferred candidate would have a bachelor's degree or higher in data science or analytics with 3+ years of proven skills in data science or data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Data Strategy Development: Defining and executing a comprehensive USPTO-wide data strategy to drive outcomes.
• Data Governance: Serving on the agency data governance board and outlining the operating model for data management.
• Data Management: Designing the lifecycle model to ensure data quality and compliance with regulations.
• Data Catalog: Overseeing enterprise-wide data catalog implementation for searchability, labeling, and metadata.
• Enable Data Analytics: Leading analytics initiatives to extract insights and support decision-making.
• Collaborating with Executives: Working with Commissioners for Patents/Trademarks and other senior leaders to manage the data lifecycle.
• Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating data-related risks and ensuring data security.
