Qualifications

• 6+ years in data engineering, data architecture, or analytics engineering with 3+ years governance hands-on.
• Expert SQL and Snowflake: RBAC, semantic views, masking, and row access policies.
• Experience managing access as code with CI-based review.
• Experience governing data used by AI/ML systems with policy control.
• Python for automation and analysis.
• Has built a governance program from an early stage at a small/mid-size company.
• Clear writer who translates policy into enforceable controls for data owners.
• Plus: regulated data (GLBA/FCRA) and third-party licensing terms.
• Plus: Snowflake Cortex Analyst or moving semantic definitions to a warehouse layer.
• Plus: NIST AI RMF or DAMA-DMBOK; mortgage or lending industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Design Snowflake RBAC for people and apps, with policy-as-code managed via peer review.
• Maintain semantic views as the governed read path; certify semantic models and definitions.
• Run quarterly access reviews with named approvers and evidence; enforce duties separation.
• Detect and close access gaps created by ingestion and tooling.
• Build and maintain data inventory and rights register with origin and terms.
• Enforce purpose limits and separate client data from licensed data.
• Create data classification, retention, and AI data use standards using Snowflake tags.
• Run production review gates for AI agents, MCP servers and skills; verify data reach.
• Maintain AI system inventory and trace training data to permitted sources.
• Set data governance KPIs and document controls as runbooks for operations.
• Maintain governance evidence package for client reviews and due diligence.
