Job summary

The City of New York, Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) in Brooklyn, NY, seeks an IT Project Specialist to drive citywide cybersecurity projects and tech initiatives. You will coordinate cross‑agency teams, manage complex work plans, and deliver dashboards for executives.

This role requires strong project management experience, vendor coordination, and the ability to translate leadership vision into actionable programs that improve public safety and digital government services.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area required by the position; or
• An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and six years of satisfactory full-time experience; or
• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience in the area; or
• Education and/or experience equivalent to 1-3 above.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with legal, contracting, finance, and communications teams to manage multi-functional team coordination and procurement processes.
• Manage the delivery of multiple projects across engineering, operations, and customer-facing applications.
• Maintain and update Salesforce domain for multiple interrelated projects.
• Develop centralized PMO structure to document variables for reporting and dashboards.
• Develop reporting and dashboarding strategy for executive leadership use.
• Translate leadership vision into an achievable implementation plan.
• Lead concurrent workstreams, including meetings, minutes, and follow-up items.
• Create new workflows and processes across the project lifecycle with stakeholders.
• Manage PoC/PoV trials for new technology solutions and conduct risk assessments.
