Job summary

AFC Worldwide Express, Inc. is seeking a Customs Consulting & Compliance Specialist to promote our customs brokerage services, engage potential clients, and schedule appointments with the Customs Consulting & Compliance Manager.

You will interface with all levels of client environments and build strong, ongoing relationships while applying regulatory and analytical skills to deliver consulting deliverables.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor Degree in International Business/Trade, Supply Chain Management, or other relevant academic discipline and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a CCS certification and/or US Customs Broker license or have ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
• 2+ years of experience in customs consultancy, import/export operations and compliance or related field.
• Experience using video conferencing platforms (e.g., WebEx, Zoom).
• Experience using Cargowise Customs & Compliance software is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of customs brokerage operations, U.S. Customs regulations, trade procedures, and PGA requirements.
• Proficiency in researching using internal systems, government databases, and industry publications.
• Ability to connect with diverse audiences and communicate complex concepts clearly.
• Ability to create and deliver engaging presentations.
• Ability to answer inquiries with high level customer service.
• Ability to gather data, perform analysis, identify gaps and make recommendations.
• Strong negotiation skills to close deals.
• Ability to persuade potential clients to purchase services.
• Problem-solving and managing complex customer situations promptly.
• Strong organizational and detail skills, deadlines, and adaptability.
• Proficient with MS Office and video conferencing tools.
• Fluent English; bi-lingual Spanish is a plus.
• Regular and reliable attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support selling consulting engagements and promote AFC International as a leader in Customs and Trade consulting services.
• Identify and reach out to potential clients via phone, email, and social media.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and tailor solutions to needs.
• Communicate benefits and advantages of customs brokerage services to potential clients.
• Consult with new importers on U.S. Customs and PGA regulations.
• Provide U.S. Customs Clearance guidance to questions from existing and prospective customers.
• Book appointments for clients to meet with the Customs Consulting & Compliance Manager.
• Keep current with trends, regulations and CBP/PGA programs.
• Maintain regular attendance to support workflow and productivity.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
