Charter Oak is hiring a strategic CTO to lead technology architecture, infrastructure, and data governance in Waterford, CT. You will drive the technology roadmap, oversee enterprise security, and partner with executive leadership to align technology with the credit union's growth and risk management goals.

The role requires 10+ years IT experience, including leadership in financial services, with a hands-on approach to secure, scalable systems and a focus on member experience.

Qualifications

• BS/BA Degree in Technology, Information Management, Business Administration or related field.
• At least 5 years in a financial institution and a total of at least 10 years IT experience.
• Innovative, proactive leader with strong interpersonal and vendor communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise-wide leadership for technology strategy and governance.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap aligned with strategic goals.
• Own technology budgets and cost optimization with measurable ROI.
• Lead data architecture, security strategy, and incident response planning.
• Oversee core systems, integrations, and digital platforms for member experience.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and third-party risk.
