Job summary

Wesco in Illinois seeks a Manager – Credit and Collections to lead a team handling credit and collections for large accounts within a region. You will collaborate with Operations, Sales and customers to protect cash flow and minimize risk while maintaining strong relationships.

The role requires 5–7 years in AR/finance, staff leadership, and extensive experience with trade credit and third parties. Hybrid work at Glenview location with opportunities for professional growth and competitive

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain or Business.
• NACM CCP or similar certification preferred.
• 5–7 years of accounts receivable, accounting, finance, supply chain or general business experience.
• Minimum of 3 years experience with hiring, coaching, training and developing employees.
• Minimum of 2 years experience with Commercial (B2B) credit and collection experience in a high-volume environment.
• Minimum of 2 years experience working with trade credit and other third parties (e.g., D&B, Experian, Equifax, NACM, CreditSafe) to obtain credit information.

Responsibilities

• Select, manage, evaluate and develop staff. Provide coaching, feedback and development opportunities.
• Coordinate with financial services team, customers, Sales and branch personnel to resolve escalated issues with focus on cash flow and customer satisfaction.
• Participate in monthly AR aging and dispute reviews for escalated or unique issues.
• Research credit information to rate and approve credit worthiness of new and existing accounts within portfolio.
• Make final determination on use of credit instruments to mitigate risk within Levels of Authority.
• Negotiate contractual risks with customers, Sales and Legal (warranties, indemnification, liability, liquated damages).
• Review orders on credit hold and decide to release or escalate to Senior Manager/Director.
• Coordinate with attorneys and collection agencies for legal actions and bad debt reserves.
• Represent Wesco at credit group meetings and develop confidential credit industry relationships.
