Responsibilities

• Assists the County Administrator with overall direction and administration of the County’s operations and functions.
• Develops and recommends long-range plans and policies for County programs and operations; assists in the development of strategic initiatives and performance measures.
• Supervises and provides guidance to County departments as assigned by the County Administrator.
• Coordinates with elected officials and department heads on policy implementation and operational issues.
• Provides recommendations on organizational structure, staffing, and operational efficiencies.
• Acts on behalf of the County Administrator in his or her absence, representing the Administrator at internal and external meetings and functions.
• Facilitates interdepartmental cooperation and communication to ensure effective service delivery to the public.
• Assists in the preparation and review of the County’s annual budget and capital improvement program.
• Researches, analyzes, and presents reports on a variety of administrative and operational issues to the County Administrator and Commissioners Court.
• Serves on boards and committees as assigned by the County Administrator.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
