Job summary

Philip Morris International is seeking a Senior Counsel to serve as a strategic legal partner to senior business leaders, guiding commercial, marketing, regulatory and operational matters. You will help manage risk, enable growth, and support innovation in a highly regulated environment.

You will lead legal strategy for commercialization of smoke-free products, advise on product launches, and partner with cross-functional teams to implement governance and risk frameworks.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• 10+ years of legal experience supporting commercial business functions.
• Experience advising on marketing, advertising, consumer engagement, regulatory, digital, and commercial contracting matters.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
• Demonstrated ability to work proactively with initiative and urgency, driving legal and business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead legal strategy supporting the commercialization of smoke-free and innovative products.
• Advise on product launches, market entry, governance, and risk management frameworks.
• Partner with Marketing, Sales, Consumer Experience, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, and Communications teams.
• Identify and mitigate legal, regulatory, compliance, and reputational risks.
