Job summary

Rider Levett Bucknall is seeking a Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to support senior staff across the project lifecycle. The role focuses on cost control, value optimization and alignment with client objectives from inception through closeout.

The ideal candidate will have a 4-year QS/Construction Management degree (or related) and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, communicate clearly, and use Excel for cost reporting and analysis. On-site work is typical.

Qualifications

• Must have strong cost management principles and ability to analyze data.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills across technical and client audiences.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel for cost control, reporting and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed cost estimating, budgeting and cost planning across project phases.
• Prepare and issue periodic cost reports to senior staff and clients.
• Review cash flow and advise on cost risks and opportunities.
• Assist in change management including evaluation and approval of change orders.
• Validate contractor and vendor invoices; support procurement activities and bid evaluations.
• Attend cost meetings with contractors and engineering teams to review status.
• Contribute to value engineering to optimize cost while maintaining quality and scope.
• Support project closeout with documentation review and financial reconciliation.
