Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer to lead cost control, forecasting, and reporting across a portfolio of capital projects for an Oil & Gas Pipeline client. You will collaborate with project managers, finance, procurement and contractors to ensure accurate cost governance.

The role requires a minimum of six years in cost engineering or project controls, strong Excel, SAP and ECOSYS skills, and experience with Power BI for dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years post-graduate experience in cost engineering, project controls, financial analysis, or cost management, preferably in Oil & Gas.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance for complex capital projects.
• Advanced analytical, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, change management, and variance analysis.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead project and portfolio cost control activities aligned with budgets and forecasts.
• Develop and maintain detailed project cost forecasts and variance analyses.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify risks and opportunities.
• Prepare monthly cost reports and executive summaries.
• Reconcile expenditures against forecasts and explain variances.
• Oversee cost reporting metrics including earned value and cash flow analysis.
• Oversee invoice validation, cost allocation, and reconciliation within SAP.
• Support change management by evaluating cost impacts of changes.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure cost accuracy and compliance.
• Drive process improvements and standardization in cost management.
• Mentor junior cost engineers and assist with audits and SOX controls.
