Job summary

Emerson Electric Co. seeks a senior Program Cost Manager to own should-cost/could-cost models for key product programs and direct material spend. You will partner with Strategic Sourcing, validate cost assumptions with Engineering and Operations, and drive cost-out opportunities across the product lifecycle.

You will analyze total cost of ownership, support negotiations, and track performance against targets, contributing to continuous improvement of costing tools and analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Business or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in sourcing, cost engineering or manufacturing finance.
• Expertise in should-cost, clean-sheet costing and supplier cost analysis.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost structures.
• Proven ability to influence negotiations with data-driven insights.
• Experience with ERP and sourcing systems is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for shared leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and ownership of should-cost and could-cost models for commodities and product programs.
• Support supplier negotiations, RFQs and contracting with cost analysis and TCO assessments.
• Identify cost drivers and opportunities for cost-out and margin expansion.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to validate cost assumptions and routings.
• Provide cost impact analysis on TCO for sourcing decisions and changes.
• Track cost performance versus targets and drive recovery actions.
• Support make-versus-buy evaluations and supplier benchmarking.
• Act as sourcing cost authority for programs, aligning cost models with financial commitments.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of costing tools and analytics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
