Job summary

LP Building Solutions in Nashville seeks a Sr. Manager of Cost Accounting to lead manufacturing cost reporting and inventory controls across multiple plants. You will drive standard and actual costing, oversee close cycles, and provide strategic financial analyses to senior leadership.

The role requires 10+ years in cost accounting within manufacturing, strong supervisory and cross-functional collaboration skills, and deep GAAP knowledge. Hybrid work with competitive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including cost accounting in multi-site manufacturing
• Demonstrated supervisory experience
• Expert knowledge of GAAP applicable to inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing operations
• Advanced understanding of standard costing, actual costing, inventory valuation, overhead allocation
• Strong internal controls knowledge, SOX compliance, audit readiness, and financial reporting requirements
• Experience with SAP product costing, production orders, inventory accounting, and material ledger preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead cost accounting operations across plants and product lines ensuring accurate inventory and manufacturing costs
• Own governance of standard and actual product costs, BOMs, routings, labor and machine rates, overhead, and other cost components
• Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for inventory and manufacturing accounting
• Lead annual standard cost development and roll process with cross-functional coordination
• Provide expert accounting guidance on inventory, capitalization, reserves, obsolescence, and physical inventories
• Prepare executive-level reporting on inventory, costs, margins, and financial risks
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and FP&A for budgeting, forecasting, productivity, and buy decisions
• Lead SAP cost accounting and material ledger processes and reconciliations
• Strengthen internal controls and SOX compliance across inventories and costing processes
• Lead process optimization to improve costing methodologies, data quality, and scalability
• Coach and develop cost accounting team and manage performance
