Job summary

Louisiana-Pacific Corporation seeks a Sr. Manager, Cost Accounting to lead inventory and manufacturing cost reporting across multiple plants.

The role directs standard and actual costing, close processes, and cost governance under GAAP, while driving internal controls and process improvements. You will partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting and cost optimization initiatives, including new product introductions and make-vs-buy decisions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in multi-site manufacturing
• Supervisory experience required
• Expert GAAP knowledge for inventory and manufacturing
• Advanced costing knowledge: standard vs actual costing, overheads
• Strong internal controls, SOX compliance, audit readiness

Responsibilities

• Lead cost accounting operations across plants ensuring accurate inventory and manufacturing cost reporting
• Govern standard and actual product costs including BOMs, routings, labor and overhead rates
• Manage month/quarter/year-end close for inventory and manufacturing accounting
• Oversee annual standard cost development and roll process across functions
• Provide guidance on complex inventory accounting, capitalization, reserves and obsolescence
• Analyze plant profitability, cost drivers, and manufacturing performance for leadership review
• Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain and FP&A on budgeting, forecasting and capital decisions
• Oversee SAP cost accounting and material ledger processes and reconciliations
• Strengthen internal controls and SOX compliance across inventory and cost accounting
• Drive process improvements to standardize costing methods and data quality
• Lead and develop cost accounting team with performance management and training
• Prepare executive-level inventory and cost reporting with actionable insights
