Job summary

CFS is seeking a Cost Accountant to serve as the primary cost accounting partner for multiple processing facilities in the Eastern region, directly engaging with plant leadership and executive finance teams.

You will influence budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives, monitor inventory accuracy, and support ERP reporting while driving cost improvements and profitability across operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance, economics or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with cost accounting exposure.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and analyze standard costs, product costing, and manufacturing variances.
• Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliations, and control processes.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and support month-end close activities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for plant operations.
• Partner with plant leadership to provide financial insights and cost improvement recommendations.
• Support audits, management reporting, and special projects.
