Job summary

CFS is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join its manufacturing accounting team. The role emphasizes working closely with operations to analyze costs, inventory, and financial performance to drive cost improvements.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of manufacturing accounting experience, strong cost accounting knowledge, and proficiency in Excel. You will support month-end close, variances, budgeting, and financial reporting while maintaining accurate costing records and partnering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and general accounting principles.
• Experience with standard costing, variance analysis, and month-end close preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and communicate findings effectively.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and maintain product and manufacturing costs
• Support month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Analyze inventory, variances, and cost of goods sold
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Partner with operations to identify cost trends and opportunities for improvement
• Maintain accurate costing and accounting records
• Support audits and other accounting projects as needed
